The Parish of Tarrant Gunville is part of the Hill Forts ward of Dorset Council. It encompasses the villages of Tarrant Gunville and Stubhampton at the head of the Tarrant Valley, in the Cranborne Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
